Naoya, a middle-aged man living a solitary, unnoticed life, works as a driver for an escort service in a rural town. One night, a mysterious woman—discarded by a UFO—appears before him. Naoya takes her home, names her "Mariko," and begins to look after her; as he does, his daily life gradually begins to regain its spark. Confused by life on Earth, the first word Mariko learns is "churu-churu"—an onomatopoeic term inspired by the sound of Naoya slurping the *hiyamugi* (chilled wheat noodles) he prepared. These modest, everyday interactions bring unexpected joy to the life of a man who had long been alone. Meanwhile, Ruriko, a popular worker at the escort service, notices the change in Naoya and begins to see him in a new light—not just as a driver, but as a man.
