On the sun-scorched coast of central Vietnam, Cát, an innocent young woman, lives with her sister Mai in a modest house near a seaside resort. Deeply attached to nature, Cát is determined to protect the sand-dwelling lizards threatened by human activity. Her beliefs bring her into conflict with Tuyết, an ambitious resort owner who plans to modernize the area by constructing a pier on the land occupied by the sisters' home.
